Life Sooner Takes Than Gives

It asks without warning and takes without apology, and for all our trying, it can only ever be understood in reverse. We spend our days reaching forward and our nights looking back, searching for meaning amongst the scattered remains of choices made by younger versions of ourselves, only to discover that life was never interested in explaining itself.
It simply is.
What was, was. What is, is.
And somewhere in that unforgiving truth there is freedom.

If you can keep your head held high through the confusion of it all, if you can look beyond the noise without growing bitter from it, then perhaps you arrive at something greater than happiness. Perhaps you arrive at peace, not the peace of certainty, but the peace of knowing you gave yourself honestly to the world.
For no one escapes mistakes. We all lose our way. We place our faith in the wrong people, walk roads that lead nowhere, and speak words we wish we could gather back into ourselves. Such things are not failures. They are the cost of living.
What matters is whether your heart remained true whilst you did.
Because life has a peculiar habit of returning to those who meet it sincerely. Not with riches or grand rewards, but with small and sacred things: the warmth of morning light through an open window, familiar laughter carried on the air, the sudden realisation that despite everything, there is still beauty here.
And one day you may look back across the landscape of your life and see that what felt like destruction was often construction wearing a different face. That heartbreak was shaping you. That disappointment was redirecting you. That every wrong turn was quietly carrying you somewhere you could not yet imagine.
Do not waste your days regretting what could have been.
The life imagined from a distance is always gentler than the one we are given.
What matters is the courage with which you walked your own road.
Life is tragedy. It is loss. It is endings arriving before we are ready for them. Yet it is often in the wake of such things that we finally see ourselves clearly; when the dust settles and the noise fades, we discover what within us cannot be broken.

So understand this, my friend:
You were always meant for your path, even when you doubted your footing upon it. The route is yours and yours alone to bear witness to.
Live with a pure heart.
Live with honest intention.
Trust the unfolding.
And when the mist finally parts, you may discover that the person you spent so long searching for was never waiting somewhere ahead of you.
You were becoming them all along.
Life is beautiful, if you let it be.
Let it be what it is.
And be yourself, always.
